Greater Cincinnati 2010 Capacity Building Workshops
The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati, in cooperation with SC Ministry Foundation, offers capacity building workshops on varying topics designed to help nonprofits build the skills and resources necessary to become self-sufficient. All classes are held at The Health Foundation’s office on Edwards Rd. in the Rookwood Pavilion.

Independent Sector is a national association of foundations, corporations and nonprofit organizations that focuses on tracking and promoting volunteering and charitable giving in the United States. The association’s website provides information about trends in the nonprofit sector and updates on public policy issues that impact individual donors, foundations and nonprofit organizations.
Internal Revenue Service
The IRS has published two new brochures to help charities understand the tax laws conferring tax-exempt status. One brochure (Publication 4220) is designed to help prospective charities apply for tax exemption. The other (Publication 4221) is a compliance guide that explains the record-keeping, return filing and disclosure rules for those organizations. Outcomes Indicator Project
This joint project between the Urban Institute and the Center for What Works provides a framework for tracking nonprofit performance. It suggests candidate outcomes and outcome indicators to assist nonprofit organizations that seek to develop new outcome monitoring processes or improve their existing systems.

Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati
The Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati is an apostolic Catholic women’s religious community which exists to carry out the Gospel of Jesus Christ through service and prayer in the world. More than 400 Sisters share their mission with approximately 170 Associates (lay men and women). Sisters, using their professional talents as ministers of education, health care and social services currently live and minister in 33 U.S. dioceses and in Guatemala. They also sponsor institutions to address education, health care and social service needs, with particular concern for direct service to those living in poverty.
